  • 4 tablespoons hot sauce (something such as Frank’s or Texas Pete is suitable for home chefs)
  • 2 tablespoons wildflower honey (local, sorghum molasses or agave nectar can also be substituted for vegan alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar (tightly packed)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 ounces unsalted butter (cold, cut into small cubes, omit for vegan alternative)
  • 1 knob ginger (julienned as small as possible)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • seeds (Benne, lightly toasted, to garnish, white sesame seeds will also work just fine)
