Wonderful! I let the bread machine do the kneading and first proving. Removed from the bread maker and baked in a loaf pan. Perfection.

Nice! I will certainly make this again, maybe even a whole-grain version sometime. And I may use more lemon juice. I do have an active sourdough culture, which rises beautifully, but isn't sour-flavored at all, as some strains just naturally aren't. It would be fun to make mock sourdough bread with real sourdough in it.

Very good -my husband loves sour dough bread and the starters are a real pain. This recipe very good I baked using French bread setting and 1 1/2 pd loaf and it was excellent. Next time I’ll try white bread No more starter for me!!! This is excellent.

wonderful recipe. next time will set crust to medium instead of light. may never make sourdough starter again!!
