I made some adjustments to the spices, based on my own preferences: I used 1/2 tablespoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne, & 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. I also used 1/2 cup of maple syrup instead of brown sugar & added a splash of red wine. It turned out pretty good. It's a great way to used blueberries & much preferable over store bought sauce. I used this batch of sauce in a BBQ-beer chicken recipe. My husband loved it. I will definitely make this sauce again & use it in other recipes.

I think it's good but when I make it again I will omit the cumin, chipolte pepper and adobe sauce, replacing it with fresh jalapeño, serrano and poblano. I had even reduced the cumin to one teaspoon and did not like its taste in this sauce.
