The blueberry and rhubarb mixture creates a spectacular color! Unfortunately, this recipe was far too sweet for my family. The blueberries impart a LOT of natural sweetness, and the rhubarb flavor was almost entirely lost. The corn starch level may be a bit high as well; though I like that it helped to firm up the mixture (instead of the typical sloppy mess a crisp base can be), ours turned out jam-like in consistency, too thick to be pleasant.
