- 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 2 1/2 cups shortening (or butter I use a combination of the two)
- 6 eggs
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 3 tsp. baking soda
- 3 tsp. salt
- 7 cups flour (+ a little extra for higher altitude)
- 3 cups chocolate chips (or other mix-ins like chopped nuts, craisins, white chocolate, chocolate candies, etc.)
