- 2 green chili peppers (sliced)
- 3/4 tsp. salt (or more to taste, 1/4 tsp for frying the okra, heaped 1/2 tsp while adding the rest of the spices)
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds
- 1 tsp. coriander powder
- 1 tsp. cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp. red chili powder (or more to taste)
- 2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro (for garnish, optional)
- lemon juice (freshly squeezed, optional - I usually don't add it)
