My go-to shape sugar cookies from now on! My family was amazed at how soft and flavorful they were, but still hold shape well, and very versatile. When plain I like to swap some/all of the vanilla with almond extract. They take food coloring and even flavor mix-ins well.
I used this recipe for pinwheel cookies and it worked great- added 1/3 c creamy peanut butter and maybe some extra flour (I used 1/4 c) to one batch, and 1/3 c cocoa powder and maybe some water (I used about 1 1/2 tbsp) to another. Both flavors are delicious.

These are the best! I usually make these at Christmas but needed something that would travel well to an out-of-town wedding. I'm frosting them tonight in the bride's wedding colors, purple and lavender!

Yummy ,but I used whole wheat flour so probably came out a little different. I tripled this recipe though and it made a lot cookies. I would just suggest you put the amount of the serving or how many the recipe makes.
