- 1/4 tsp. dried thyme (EACH, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes)
- 1 whole bay leaf
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
- 1 carrot (finely diced optional)
- 1 stalk celery (finely diced optional)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)

- 2 tsp. dried parsley (2 tablespoons fresn)
- 1/2 Tbsp. chicken bouillon
- 1/2 Tbsp. sugar (more or less to taste)
- 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar (or more if you like it tangier)
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp. dried thyme (EACH, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes)

We loved this Marinara recipe. The ingredients gave it some great texture. I chose not to blend it as we like a chunkier sauce. Incredible flavor and you can make it as spicy as you like. Excellent!

I used canned fire-roasted tomato salsa and it gave it a great spiciness. Omitted the pepper flakes. Nice and complex.
