- 2 cups fresh blueberries (about 10 ounces, picked over *, Same amount for frozen blueberries just see note for slight change in directions)
- 1 1/8 cups sugar (8 ounces plus 1 teaspoon)
- 2 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour (12 1/2 ounces)
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. table salt
- 2 large eggs
- 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter (melted and cooled slightly)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (I use light olive oil)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
