These waffles are nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but they seem a little lackluster in taste. If I were to make these again, I would decrease the cornstarch some and add another tablespoon of sugar.

This is truly the best classic waffle recipe. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. My whole family loves them.

The waffles came out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I made them with buttermilk and added chocolate chips. The batter is thinner then others I have used but they are delicious. Who knew cornstarch is the secret. Enjoy!

This is the best homemade waffle recipe! We have tried many many homemade waffle recipes and this one is worth the time it takes to put together over a mix. The waffles turned out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The batter is a thin batter, but don't let that worry you. I doubled the recipe and we got 8 squares; we own a Krups Belgian waffle iron that makes 4 big square waffles at a time.
