- 200 grams natural yoghurt (thick)
- 3 Tbsp. tomato purée
- 2 fresh root ginger (x 5cm/2in, peeled and finely chopped)
- 4 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 2 tsp. ground coriander
- 1 Tbsp. chilli powder
- 1 tsp. ground turmeric
- 500 grams beef rump steak (cut into 2.5cm/1in cubes, rinsed)
- 4 berries (5 butternut, or pitted plums)
- 400 mL coconut milk
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala (optional)
- 2 chillies (3 green finger, split into four lengthways)
- salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. rapeseed oil (or ghee)
- 3 cms cinnamon stick
- 2 cardamom pods (lightly crushed)
- 3 cloves
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds
- 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
- 500 grams basmati rice (or long-grain rice)
- 1 liter boiling water
