Made mine with canned venison, turned out amazing. Also cooked it in a lodge cast iron skillet. Cooking time was 45 minutes.

The recipe turned out very good.!! I used cornstarch instead of flour to thicken the gravy quicker and green beans instead of peas. I will be doing this again.!

I made a few changes to the recipe. I braised the meat in a skillet and then simmered it in red wine and beef consome'. I omitted the peas and added celery, carrots and potatoes along with seasoning salt and roasted them in the oven at 425 x 1 hr to make more flavorful. Added sauteed mushrooms to the roasted veggies. Used beef conome' instead of beef broth to make a heartier gravy. Use store bought pie crust and made individual pot pies- my family likes their own serving. Delicious recipe!! Time consuming however worth it.

I will definitely make this again! I would suggest that you use a deep dish pie pan though because mine ran over.
