- 1 loaf day-old challah (or Italian bread, 16-18 oz. per loaf)
- 2 bananas (large)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups half and half
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter (melted)
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- powdered sugar (optional)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Spray a 9-inch square baking dish liberally with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes. Slice one of the bananas into 1/4-inch thick coins and set aside.
