I made this recipe and per previous reviews I reduced the sugar to one cup and chose not to frost it. The cake has a baking soda aftertaste which is not pleasant.

I used refined sugar
Brown butter is more like frosting and taste great
Didn’t want to waste my browned bananas

Hand-mixed like the banana cakes I made as a child. 1 cup of sugar was sufficient. As a result of too many "seconds" requests, the cake was devoured before I could even consider icing. I served it with dollops of yoghurt and sour cream.

This cake was really good!!! I used a “Carmel” frosting recipe with it and my family loved it!!!

l made it . The cake is very yummy , but I didnt like the frosting. Next time I will make it without the frosting.

Loved the texture of the cake. The icing is sweet...I would use half of it or thin it down.

Delish - so easy and so tasty. I used 1c of sugar and could probably even go to 3/4c. I did not make the frosting and it was still so good. No mixer needed!
