  • 2 cups flour (unbleached all-purpose, plus more for dusting the pan)
  • 1 1/4 cups walnuts (coarsely chopped)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 bananas (very ripe, large-ish, with big black splotches, mashed well, 1 1/2 cups and about 340 grams)
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt (preferably 2% or whole fat)
  • 2 large eggs (beaten lightly)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and cooled, plus more for the pan)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    This is an amazing recipe. My first time making this ever, and I feel so accomplished thanks to this wonderful recipe. It turned out amazing, made my house smell incredible. I will definitely be keeping this recipe.

    Done as per instructions. Completely wet raw middle after 1:15. Going any further leaves outside burnt. Double checked all ingredients and measures, it is definitely the recipe. Went directly to the trash.

    My best banana bread yet! i used greek yogurt and 1/4 cup brown sugar. i was skeptical but i baked it for 55 minutes and it came out great.

    the recipe turned out well! i reduced the sugar a little and combined them with some brown sugar! didnt get to use walnuts, maybe next time!

    I lowered the sugar to 40g and butter to ~1.5tbsp, still a little bit too sweet to me. Didn’t have walnut so I used crushed almonds. The bread is soft and moist, could not cut into pieces nicely but taste good. The crust part taste amazing. Will use again with even lower sugar.

    amazing my friend and i made it but instead of flour we put oats in a blender, used brown sugar instead of regular, and used maple syrup instead of vanilla

    Family loved it! I used brown sugar instead at 1/2 c and added 1/2 tsp cinnamon.
    Yummy! I made four mini-loaves and they came out great. I never made banana bread with yogurt and I love it!

    Came out perfect. Baked for about 10-15 mins longer. After going through the comments, I used an extra banana, less (half cup) sugar (brown), some honey and chocolate chips instead of walnuts. Also omitted the yoghurt. Thank you so much for the recipe.
