Easy recipe. This recipe is perfect and makes plenty for a family gathering or to make it and have as leftovers for the next few days. I sautéd fresh spinach, fresh garlic, fresh mushrooms, fresh basil and 1/2 red onion and added it to each layer. It was delicious!

I needed to use up a pound each of sweet Italian sausage and hot Italian sausage. I like it even better than when I made it with ground beef and sausage.
