They were delicious!! I followed the recipe exactly as it is. I topped some with fresh grated parmesan and herb seasoning, others with sesame seeds, and others with cinnamon sugar. Kneading the dough was hard work but well worth it. I incorporated too much flour while kneading and it was flaking. I had to add quite a bit of water but I finally got it smooth.
Update: I got a new stand mixer and used the dough attachment to knead the dough. It worked great. Much easier.

Delicious! I use a different shaping technique. Easy dough to make. My family loves them!

It came out great, simple recipe to follow. Just need to work on my technique on keeping the smooth surface of the bagel.
Will definitely make again.

I am really confused. The bagels turned out hard as rocks, and went straight to a garbage bin. The dough was hard from the very beginning, and I didn’t like it at all, but wanted to go through the entire process to see the results. Am i missing something? I’m not blaming a recipe, I’m just saying that it did not work for me, like no other recipes ever

I’m very proud of myself! I followed the directions best I could (first time making bagels) and the result was fluffy yummy bagels. Are they perfectly shaped like store or bakery bought ones? No. Are the still cute and delicious? 1000%! For sure will make again, and probably won’t ever buy bagels again lol

Instructions in the recipe was easy to follow. It’s my fourth attempt at baking (in general) and the bagels turned out amazing! It’s perfect for a Saturday morning brunch with some honey and avocados! Would definitely make this again!

Delicious! I have made these two days in a row at my family’s request. The second day, a child helped so we could make three batches.

Turned out pretty well... but a little doughy in the middle. I am going to adjust my baking temp and try again! They definitely tasted like an authentic NY bagel!

At first I thought these bagels didn’t turn out because I couldn’t seem to get the tops to brown. But after I let them fully cool and bit into one, wow! Absolutely fantastic! The outside isn’t quite a crust but slightly tougher and chewier than the inside, which is in turn airy and light. This is one of those foods I occasionally find that is relatively healthy but tastes like it should be fattening. It tastes indulgent and rich! I highly recommend this recipe to anyone (I have limited cooking skills)!

Hands down the best bagel recipe. I’ve made this quite a few times now. I will never buy another store bought bagel again.

This recipe is perfect, so easy and it turned out great! I’ve always been afraid of baking bagels, I don’t know exactly why. Will definitely be repeating it! Thanks!

Amazing. I'm a New Yorker, and these definitely hold up to the NY bagel standard. Just make sure to boil them for 2 minutes on each side as suggested for a NY style bagel. Also, adding an egg wash and then shredded Monterey Jack before putting in the oven is great too!

These are incredible. I grew up in NY and bagels are my favorite food
First attempt at ever making them this recipe is so easy and perfect every time.thank you

Outstanding. The bagels were tasty and fresh. When I formed the dough into bagel shapes I thought they looked like mini bagels. But they expanded in the boiling phase. They were standard sized when i was done.
I opted for sesame bagels. The egg wash worked. Now if there were only a way to reduce the sesame casualties on the counter, in the baking sheet, in the sink. Still they are delicious!

It was a great taste I think I need to practice my kneeding skills a little more. But for a first try at baking, this was very simple and left a lot of room for error. They still turned out fantastic!!

I had never made bagels before but these turned out amazing! Super easy to make and taste delicious, just like an Einstein’s bagel. Definitely will be making again. Also recommend adding Everything Bagel Seasoning.

Great bagel recipe! Very easy and excellent results. I wanted a slightly sweet finish, so I added 2 tablespoons of molasses to the dough and 2 tablespoons of honey in the boiling water. This was just enough to give the bagels a honey wheat flavor, which was just what I wanted while using plain bread flour.
