- 1/2 cup shortening (palm, see note #1, can be substituted for coconut oil, but the texture will be different)
- 3 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 3 Tbsp. coconut sugar
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla
- 2/3 cup arrowroot starch (can be substituted for tapioca starch)
- 1/3 cup coconut flour (see note #2 for substitution advice)
- 1 Tbsp. gelatin (grass fed)
- 1 tsp. baking soda (aluminum free)
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 4 slices cooked bacon (chopped)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chunks (replace with these carob chips for AIP)
