Excellent with mixed veggies. I used 4 cups chicken broth only, no milk and no cream. The butter makes it sooo delicious! Instead of flour, I chopped 1 small potato. Extended cooking time until potatoes cooked. Served it partially puréed.

i cut up a carrot too, used 2c broth 3/4c milk and 1/2c 15% cooking cream. I mixed the salt and sugar in a bowl and used half and it turned out fine. like campbell's soup but better. will make again with less flour. wait... it IS a campbell's soup... ha

I thought the soup was tasty when I added some extra spices to make it less bland. I added one extra garlic clove, 2 extra ribs of celery, paprika, thyme, and crushed red pepper. With extra spices the soup is five stars.

Really good! The additions I made were 1/2 tsp each garlic and onion powders. Will definitely be making this again.

After following the recipe, I guess it turned out the way it was supposed to. I have to admit it is pretty disappointing in flavor. I added extra celery and I used organic. I have made much better cream of celery soup's, with other recipes. I think that there is far too much flour required for the recipe. The pros: It is a simple recipe to follow and it is easy to make. The cons: bland and kind of boring. There are definitely are much better and still simple recipes out there, I would try something else next time.

I would make this again. Very easy and quick from stovetop to tabletop. I subbed chicken broth with veggie broth and added some carrots.

Filling, flavorful, creamy, and delicious. I like to have a light cup of soup for lunch and this was perfect. I made it exactly as described in the recipe. Loved it! I would def recommend substituting this for canned cream of celery as a stand alone soup or in combination with other ingredients in another recipe.
