next time i would make my own crust the store bought one just crumbled but it was soooooo good and not heavy at all!!!!!

Made it for dinner with friends and all licked their plates clean. So decadently good!

Wonderful! We had made this pie several times before I noticed this recipe, and this works perfectly.
For the Canadians out there, I put two 300ml cans of Eagle Brand boiling in a pot! The cans will not explode!! Once you have boiled them for the three hours, always topping up the water level, let them cool down out of the water. Now, before they get cold, open the cans to pour out the wonderful toffee-coloured goodness while still a little warm. It will fill in the gaps between the banana pieces nicely.
The two 300ml cans put the 'dulce de lece' level up to the top of the graham crust, but hey, that's what the crust is for right?!
I decorate the whipped cream with fresh cut banana, just prior to serving. Thanks for posting this recipe!
