- 1 bunch green onions (chopped)
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 lb. extra lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausage (3 links, casings removed)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 3 Tbsp. fresh parsley (minced, use fresh!)
- 1 crushed tomatoes (approx. 28 ounce can, or tomato puree)
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (I add two more pinches to give it a kick!)
- 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. salt (or to taste)
- 2 cups water
- 8 oz. spaghetti (broken in half or thirds, I used half of a 16 ounce package–Thin spaghetti–not Angel Hair– but you can use regular)
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 4 Tbsp. fresh basil (chopped, use fresh!)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (fresh, buy a wedge of Parmesan cheese and grate it, it makes a huge difference!)
- 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
