Description
This is a puerto rican soup dish made with rice and shrimp.

- 1 lb. shrimps (fresh, raw, with the tail/shell, 16/20)
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 cup rice
- 4 oz. tomato sauce (spanish style)
- 6 garlic cloves (crushed)
- 1 red bell pepper (diced)
- 2 Tbsp. cilantro leaves (fresh)
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 Tbsp. annatto oil
- 2 Tbsp. sofrito
- 3 Tbsp. capers (or olives)
- 1 pinch saffron
- salt
- red pepper flake (to taste)

Directions
- Rinse the shrimp with cold water
- Remove the shells from the tails and save them for later. Devein if needed.
- In a large pot, add the water and shrimp shells. Boil for 5 minutes.
