Hi Samantha R you boil than you put it in the fridge and let it cool down than you let it sit in the fridge overnight.

Made this for a friend from Argentina. It was flawless! I added some extra salt, and he said the only difference between this and a traditional Argentinean flan is that I cooked it in a pie pan instead of a flat Bundt pan. By the way, I had enough flan for two to three ramekins and a pie dish.

My husband loves flan. The only issues I had was with the caramel, it became a sugary paste once refrigerated but I'm almost positive that it was my bad cooking skills. Also, the flan didn't cook all the way after baking for 30 minutes, I ended up doing 50 but it was still watery for me. I will attempt again because even as it was, it was still flavorful and worth another try!
