  • 1/3 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground nutmeg (divided)
  • 1/16 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground cloves (divided)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. 
    2. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
    3. To make the crust, place the softened butter, brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and 1/4 tsp. salt in a medium bowl. Whisk to combine. Add 1 cup flour and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, and continue whisking until a soft dough forms. Transfer the dough to the baking pan.
