    It was fine but I would recommend boiling the apples first so that they are softer and taste better in the crumble.

    This recipe turned out great. I adapted the recipe to baking it in an 8" x 8" pan by using 5 apples, and I didn't change anything else. The balance between the apples and topping (crisp) tasted fantastic!
