- 7 baking apples (medium, I recommend a ratio of 5 Granny Smith apples + 2 Mutsu or Golden Delicious apples, roughly 3 lbs, peeled, cored, and sliced just over 1/4-inch thick)
- 1 orange (small, plus 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice)
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 large egg (+ 1 tablespoon milk, whisked)
- turbinado sugar (for sprinkling)
