    So good and it came out perfectly. I would add a little less sugar next time b/c it is really sweet maybe 1 1/2 cups instead of 2

    Very good..I would leave some sugar out next time..About 1/2 cup less..Simple easy recipe.

    Not bad! Next time I might make some adjustments, but it still turned out great!
    wonderful! making it a second time now with burboun mixed into the apples. am also putting only about 2/3 of the crumble on top and baking the rest of the crumble separately (topped with even more melted butter) so that people who prefer more apple and less crumble can enjoy too, but that people who love the crumble can still add more if they want.

    This recipe is great. It's exactly what I was hoping it would be, and slightly better then that. Perfectly crunchy and sugary on top with the baked apples underneath. One change I made was to add nutmeg and ginger to the apples, as I felt cinnamon would be too plain. I used the same amount of nutmeg as cinnamon and slightly under half that amount of ginger. If you have a surplus of apples, this is THE thing to make. If you have really many, make two and freeze one. I used a bowl of apples, so roughly 9-10 cups, and a very large glass pan that was at least 9x14 inches. The specific type was called Sweet 16. I got them from someone who has quite a few trees of them. The recipe above is supposed to say "7 1/2" cups, not 72, so could someone could fix the error? It says the right amount on the full recipe article, it's just off on this page.
