- 2 Tbsp. butter oil (for vegan version)
- 5 cups apples (peeled, cored, and sliced, can use a tart apple, like granny smith, or sweet apples, like gala, honeycrisp, or jonagold.)
- 2 cups blackberries (or other berry of choice)
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar (can use more or less depending on how sweet your fruit is)
- 2 Tbsp. corn starch
- 1 tsp. canela
- 1 dash ginger
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 2/3 cups flour (all-purpose)
- 1 cup butter (cold, or cold palm shortening, for vegan version)
- 1 Tbsp. honey (or coconut sugar, vegan version)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 10 Tbsp. ice cold water
- 1 egg (beaten with 1 teaspoon water, optional)
