Description
When someone mentions oats, a seriously nourishing, warming breakfast would probably come to mind. You can easily whip up a healthy breakfast recipe with oats – you’ve probably got some in your pantry already…
Let’s be honest, we live busy lives and nobody has the time for recipes that take at least half an hour to make. These five minute oats take literally 5 minutes to make and are perfect for those cold mornings where you really just want to hit snooze for another ten minutes.
So if you want a nourishing, nutrient dense meal that won’t take donkey years to make and wont use up half the ingredients in your pantry, this breakfast is for you.
Oats are a great breakfast food, mostly because they are a slow release carb which means you’ll stay full for longer. Oats are full of B vitamins and many minerals that are great for cardiovascular health. These oats use rice milk, but you could switch it out for almond or oat milk if that was more your thing.
The oats are sweetened with coconut nectar, known for its low GI and mineral content and it is a sort of caramel flavour. Cinnamon is such a warming spice, which you really need on those cold winter mornings.
To up the protein content, add nuts, seeds, coconut chips or whatever else you feel like really.
