I really like this recipe and have made it quite a few times. I do add fresh minced garlic cloves as well as fresh sliced mushrooms and crushed red pepper. I like it and think it is a good base recipe that can be easily added to. Also quick and easy with few ingredients. I cannot find fat free cheeses in my area so I use reduced fat. Perhaps this change is why I like the recipe more than other reviewers. Of course this increases the calories but you have to work with what is available to you.

I made some slight alterations after reading other people’s reviews by adding some chopped onions, minced garlic, garlic salt, and some milk to the pot. It still tasted very bland for me due to all the cream cheese and mozzarella. I tried adding red pepper to my bowl and salt which helped slightly but couldn’t save it in my opinion. The cheese was so thick that it was almost rubbery. This recipe is a pass for me. :(
