- 2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cardamom pod (black)
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds
- 1 tsp. green chile (chopped)
- 1 cup tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 piece cream cheese spread (triangles, or 1 tablespoon cream cheese)
- 1 tsp. red chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp. Garam Masala
- 2 Tbsp. fenugreek leaves (dried, kasuri methi)
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- steamed rice (for serving)
