- 1 tsp. demerara sugar syrup (blend 2 parts demerara sugar with 1 part hot water until sugar is completely dissolved & allow to cool)
- 3 dashes aromatic bitters (such as 2 dashes Angostura bitters and 1 dash Bitter Truth Old Time Aromatic Bitters)
- 2 oz. bourbon (such as Elijah Craig 12-Year-Old)
- 1 large ice block (make with a large ice cube mold)
- 1 navel orange (washed, for citrus twist)
- 1 lemon (washed, for citrus twist)

I make these and experiment with using maple syrup or different honeys instead of the demarra syrup different butters give it a different taste I have even used flavored coffee syrups Carmel/burbon is very tasty just be warned a little goes a long way they all enhance the sweetness of the bourbon/whisky, if you opt for a more aged sweeter blend you may only want to add a minimal amount of sweetener. For my friends who are infrequent drinkers I add a splash of soda water

Ok. I think its strong than i though. i need to practice especially with measuring.

I don’t usually drink strong liquor so this was a big change for me. I can see why these drinks are popular.
